Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) prepared 100 living house containers for the victims of the 6.3 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Croatia on 29 December. Evler set off on January 5 to be delivered to Zagreb in cooperation with the International Forwarders Association (UND) and DFDS Ro-Ro Logistics. Tan Group Logistics handled the customs clearance of the convoy consisting of 50 trucks of 30 UND member companies, while DFDS Ro-Ro handled the transportation of the vehicles. The vehicles were loaded on the DFDS Ro-Ro ship at Pendik Port and set off. After the ship reaches Trieste Port of Italy, it will be transported to Croatia by tow trucks of UND member companies. A first aid convoy consisting of 15 trucks had set off on 3 January.

UND Director Çetin Nuhoğlu emphasized that this is a duty of humanity by working in coordination with the relevant ministries and institutions to help natural disasters both in our country and abroad, and ensure that aid is transported to disaster areas without any problems. Nuhoğlu said, “The logistics sector has a very important role in every aspect of life. Since the 1999 earthquake, we have assumed an important role as a sector in delivering aid to many disaster areas, both in the country and abroad. We met the demands of AFAD and Red Crescent with our volunteer members gathered at the UND Disaster relief center, which we created in the last Elazig and Malatya earthquake. Now, under the leadership of the Ministry of Interior, we are moving AFAD's living quarters to Croatia beyond our borders. Our association will continue to support with the strength it receives from its members.”

Arif Akkoz, Director of DFDS Shipping and Transport Inc. Mediterranean Business Unit Turkey Agencies Unit, said, “We are proud to be part of such an important aid movement and to deliver aid trucks. Our company, which is the sea highway for European transportation, is always ready to serve our country when needed in the future with its strategic location.”
